So I’ve now passed the 36,000 mark on my Mazda 6 and I told myself before I would do nothing with the car until warranty expires. Should I still leave it stock or play around with it a bit?? Plans so far are just new tires, brake pads and possibly lowering springs (give or take 2 inches). What would you do??

That’s unfortunate.

Tires + brakes would make the biggest difference. I put my 3 on some Ventus Evo2s after my OEMs died, and the difference is unreal.

I wouldn’t touch a thing other than parts that need to be replaced. Put the rest of the money away into the RX-7/Child’s College Fund (whichever happens first).

Don’t modify a 6. Much. A throatier exhaust or stickier tires is all I would do.

I am a huge fan of keeping things stock, although bigger brakes might make the car safer, as well as upgrading the suspension to improve the handling, if you want. And is there an LPT or supercharger that would fit and not destroy the transmission?

Clearly this means its time to pull the engine out of the front and install it in the trunk powering the rear wheels. Or add a second engine in that location making it AWD.

But seriously, tires, brakes and exhaust would be plenty.

That's awesome for Canada. I’m about to order Ventus v12 in a few days.

I haven't decided on that yet because I'm still trying to keep it reliable but my brother wants to supercharge it.

Well I'm still in college so I think saving for another car might come sooner than the other option.

Well I haven't found any great sounding exhaust yet. They either sound too high or way too low in a way that definitely doesn't suit the car

We’ll definitely no plans on doing a whole race car obviously. But just a few things like what you're suggesting once I find that right exhaust note

Haha. That would be one hell of a sleeper. But overkill...

cat back, (does Borla do one for the 6? I really like the Borla sound...)

Doesn't appear that Borla makes one for the 6. Exhaust now sounds like a great idea...
